Hi there. thanks for all of your input about HSP. I was surfing the net and came across the site. I read the blogs on the page and it is exactly what i am experencing. I have been called `sensitive` at work. I do not fit into the norm of the workplace. Where people are more interested in gossip than work. It is a nasty atmosphere and unfortunalty i am sensitive when the bad moods appear. It was great to see that a few people were out working on there own. Does anyone have any ideas to deal with pople who are not as sensitve as us?? Thanks for the blogs :)

Re: finially i found somewhere i fit!!!!! :)
Sun, May 27, 2007 - 7:38 PMWelcome to the group! Have you checked out any of the books yet? They are probably more eloquent than I could be in just a single message. It sounds like Making Work Work for the Highly Sensitive Person would be a good starting place since that sounds like a critical area for you right now. -

Re: finially i found somewhere i fit!!!!! :)
Mon, May 28, 2007 - 4:13 PMYes, I did find it to be a helpful book. It talks about what kind of work seems to be the best fit for HSPs, but also a not so perfect fit can still work. (It has to do with the balance of factors in the work.) It also talks about stress management and what the author calls "HSP kung fu," which is how you protect your sensitivity in dealing with other people in the workplace.
