So has anyone else read Making Work Work for the Highly Sensitive Person yet? I have gradually been making my way through it and have had yet more "A-ha!" moments. I think there's a lot in there that ties into Peter's previous "underachiever" thread, for example.

Re: Finally reading Making Work Work...
Thu, December 23, 2004 - 4:50 PMThanks for the book recommendation, Jennifer. I will soon have *lots* of time on my hands to catch up on my reading, as I will soon be leaving my G-d-forsaken corporate job (with nothing lined up).
I am currently reading Aron's "The Highly Sensitive Person in Love," and this paragraph made me stop in my tracks (p. 134):
"The HSP will have more difficulties at work, with many ramifications in the relationship. For example, let's face it, most HSPs do not do a forty-hour week well, especially if you add a commute or children waiting for you at home. You may have all sorts of other problems around work that non-HSPs may not understand. Your work has to have meaning. You have trouble finding a congenial social and physical work environment, since workplaces are better suited to the other 80 percent of the population. So you may move from job to job, or even from career to career, suffering over each change -- and your partner suffering with you."
Peter, I'm assuming that's *your* review of this book on amazon.com? <grin>

Re: Finally reading Making Work Work...
Thu, March 29, 2007 - 10:41 AMYes, I've read it, and I really liked it. I seems, though, that her best answer for all of us is to be self employed! Oh, if only that were a practical option for us all! I mean, that'd be great!
